Swaziland's Commonwealth Games athletes have been challenged to strive to break their own personal records when the Games kick off.
“As a nation we will rally behind you in prayer and support you at the Games”, Mr Robert Zombodze Magagula, the President of the Swaziland Olympics and Commonwealth Games Association, said at an official farewell function in Swaziland.
“You will be competing against the best athletes worldwide and we encourage that each of you break his or her own personal record and also continue to set a good track in the national record,” said Magagula.
The Swaziland Athletics team comprises Dumsani Fakudze (discus), Temalangeni Dlamini (400 metres and 800 metres) with Eward Ndlangamandla the athletics official.
The Boxing team is made up of Simanga ‘The Boer’ Shiba, Thokozani ‘Mosquito’ Masuku and Musa Ngozo, and the Swimming team includes Luke Hall and Stacey Ryder.
The southern African state of Swaziland is one of 18 African nations competing in the Games.
